The Northern Virginia Local Arts Agencies (NVLAA) is a collaboration of the City of Alexandria’s Office of the Arts, Arlington Cultural Affairs, and ArtsFairfax to offer arts organizations throughout the Northern Virginia region free professional development workshops and opportunities for networking.

 

The NVLAA 2024-2025 Workshops:

NVLAA is proud to present a third year of free virtual professional development workshops for artists, arts administrators, and arts organizations. The topics this year include a guide to artist open calls, marketing, paths to working with galleries, philanthropic funding, and pricing artwork.

The NVLAA 2024 Workshops:

The NVLAA presented another year of professional development workshops for arts and cultural organizations, artists, and arts administrators. The topics this year included gaining representation, cultural intelligence, applications, promotional partnerships, marketing, and creating content.

Promotional Partnerships: Creative Ways to Attract New Audiences: March 7 from 12:00-1:30pm; facilitated by Alexandria’s Office of the Arts, Arlington Cultural Affairs, and ArtsFairfax

Marketing Tools of the Trade: March 21 from 12:00-1:30pm; facilitated by Substantial Art & Music

Creating Content in a Digital World: April 4 from 12:00-1:30pm; facilitated by New York Foundation for the Arts

The NVLAA 2022-2023 Workshops:

NVLAA launched in the fall of 2022 with virtual workshops for arts and cultural organizations, artists, and arts administrators. The topics included data and storytelling, e-commerce basics for artists, and business plan creation.
