The Winds Beyond Chang’an 風越長安

Needle and silk cannot trace the heart’s true course—only the wind knows where I wish to go.

Set against the golden age of the Tang Empire, this dance drama follows Gu Xiao, a young aristocratic woman with an affinity for scholarly pursuits rather than traditional household affairs. Chafing under the weight of expectations, she embarks on a cross-country journey to discover her life’s passion. 

Our family-friendly production features restaged award-winning repertoire along with original choreography performed by the students of Xuejuan Dance Ensemble (xjdance.org). The expected runtime for this event is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, including a 10-minute intermission.
