On the morning of October 7, 2023, Israeli American Liat Atzili and her husband Aviv were at home when Hamas attacked their kibbutz. By nightfall, they were among more than 250 people taken captive in Gaza, including 12 American citizens. Caught between international diplomacy and an escalating war, their family confronts uncertainty, grief and conflicting political perspectives in the fight for Liat and Aviv’s release.
