Guest Artist Series with Springfield Art Guild

At our October meeting, the Springfield Art Guild is hosting Matt Makara, a well-known Northern Virginia photographer. Matt’s work has been shown in more than 70 different shows in Virginia. He is a member of the Arches Gallery, the Art League, Mosaic Arts, and the ImagineEarth Collective in Washington, D.C. Recently, Matt has focused on a series he calls “painting with my camera”, for which he uses multiple in-camera techniques to create images that look like paintings. Matt is proficient is eight different photographic processes. The Guild meeting and Matt’s discussion is open to everyone, and is free of charge. We have a brief Guild business meeting starting at 7 p.m. and then Matt will take the floor.
