Fall Concert: Earth, Wind, and Fire
Join the Woodbridge Flute Choir in a tribute to nature’s majesty, featuring For the Beauty of the Earth with the Heritage Presbyterian Church Choir. The flute choir has 25 members who play flute, piccolo, alto flute, bass flute and contrabass flute. The performance is free to attend.

This season-opening performance features 25 flutists performing on piccolo, C flute, alto, bass, and contrabass flute. We’re honored to be joined by the Heritage Presbyterian Church Choir and pianist Gary Thomas in Matt Johnson’s stunning arrangement of John Rutter’s For the Beauty of the Earth. Gary will also join us for Valerie Coleman’s fiery Fire Dance.
The program includes a rich mix of lyrical, rhythmic, and virtuosic works:
- Meditation on “Abide with Me” by Kelly Via
- À la Manière de Pat by Vincenzo Sorrentino
- Bring Him Home from Les Misérables, arranged by Steven Verhaert
- Somewhere Bluebirds Fly by Erin Spencer – a poignant piece offering hope in grief
- Two playful works by Gareth McLearnon: A Piece of the Acton and So Many Themes, So Little Time
- And the ever-popular Flight of the Bumble Bee by Rimsky-Korsakov, arranged by Nancy Nourse
