In the land of the illustrated book, a very special story can be told: one of imagination, surrealism, and fable. This drawing class will encourage kids to tell creative visual stories with impact. Each student will learn to design their own story with a clear beginning, middle, and end that has a “hook”, character tension, and a wow-factor. Each week there will be drawing exercises that teach the minimal necessary chops to draw a character, an environment, and to use the drawing skill of trace, transfer, and transform that will allow for developing characters in new poses as they lead us through the story. Fine artists and cartoonists are all welcome! The only pre-requisite is a love for storytelling.
