An afternoon of original one-acts, historical reenactments, music, and the moments that made America what it is and how it might have been different

Join our community from 2pm until 4pm at this free, wildly new, storytelling event: explore America’s story, its past and its future – through the words of our heroes and heroines and through new voices. All are welcome to help us reimagine the future through arts and culture.

The Mason District Arts Council will present Passages – an afternoon of historical storytelling. This free community event will commemorate the ideas at the heart of the American Revolution through historical reenactors and original one-act plays.

This program is presented as a part of Mason Arts 250 – a community-wide engagement with important texts in American history at this critical juncture in our story.

  • “Nancy Mason” (Janis Harless – Historical Re-Enactment:)
  • Passages (Anthony Dauer as Thomas Paine)
  • Declaration of Emancipation” (One-act play with Jonah Dauer as Thomas Jefferson)
  • “Life with Lightning” (One-act play by Jodi Smith)

Intermission

Passages Act Two

  • “Pamphleteer” (One-act playWashington on Your Side (music)
  • “Walker” (Lynne Garvey-Hodge – Historical Reenactment)
  • “CHOOSE” (One-Act play by PJ Gross)
