Othering: The Danger of “US vs THEM” Thinking
Is US vs. THEM thinking hurting you, those around you, and your community? Do you want to gain insight into how to recognize and do something about it?
Join us for a youth-led workshop designed to raise awareness about “othering” and its impact, with a focus on youth. This workshop is for everyone looking to create a more inclusive environment. Our panel includes professionals from the school system, public policy community, and a student body leader.
What to Expect:
- Discover the impact of systemic exclusion based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status on its victims, the perpetuators, and our communities.
- Examine ways that schools can foster greater belonging and inclusion
- Engage with others to build awareness and empathy, and find solutions.
