Gallery B Presents Imagine Earth Collective: A Persistent Nature
Nature and art are borne of persistence. Both involve tireless experimentation, iteration and growth. Nature itself can be considered the world’s greatest artist, utilizing the elements to create masterpieces just as we – as artists – use shape, color, line, texture, value, and form to create our work. “A Persistent Nature” considers these commonalities from the perspective of our artists, who are persevering amid a D.C. community undergoing change, challenge and volatility. In persisting, our members and their works prompt visitors to interrogate how they can practice their own versions of persistence for the benefit of the environment – whether that be through individual action, advocacy or policy.
A Persistent Nature runs Friday, April 3 – Sunday, April 26. Gallery hours are 12-5pm, Fridays & Saturdays, and 11am-2pm on Sundays. There will be an opening reception Saturday, April 4 from 5-8pm.
