Shalini Rana is a poet and translator from Northern Virginia. Her poetry has received recognition from Nikki Giovanni and Kayleb Rae Candrilli. Shalini’s first poetry manuscript, No One but the Sun, was selected as a finalist for the 2024 Gaudy Boy Poetry Book Prize and received an honorable mention in the TRP Southern Poetry Breakthrough Series for Virginia. Her work appears in The Bombay Literary Magazine, The Aleph Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Salt Hill, and elsewhere. In her spare time, Shalini is a poetry reader for Split Lip Magazine. She earned an MFA in poetry from the University of Arkansas Program in Creative Writing and Translation.
