Precious Burger – Artist

Precious Burger is a mixed media artist renowned for her vibrant, intuitive works exploring themes of resilience, transformation, and human connection. Based in Fairfax, VA, Precious creates from her “treehouse-like” studio, infusing her art with a sense of wonder and natural beauty.

After a distinguished 30-year career as an elementary art educator, Precious transitioned to professional artistry, embracing her creative calling with renewed passion. Her background in education informs her artistic practice, emphasizing the importance of process over product and the joy of creative discovery.

Precious’s work has been showcased in solo and group exhibitions throughout the DC Metro area, including a solo show, “Calling All Angels,” and a joint exhibition, “A Perfect Duo: Two Artists’ Perspective of the World,” with her husband at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax Gallery in 2020 and 2023. She is represented by the Circle Foundation for the Arts in France. Her art has graced the pages of various magazines, including Novum Artis, Artistonish, and Arts to Hearts Project. Precious also serves as an Artist in Residence for Palette 22 in Shirlington, VA.

Committed to ongoing growth, Precious actively pursues professional development opportunities both in person and online. She completed the prestigious Creative Visionary Program by Art2Life’s Nicholas Wilton in 2024 and maintains her artistic evolution through membership in the Art2Life Academy, a community of artists led by Wilton. Precious is a member of the Vienna Arts Society and Falls Church Arts associations.

Beyond her studio practice, Precious facilitates art experiences for adults, sharing her expertise and passion for creativity. She is dedicated to inspiring others to recognize their creative potential and find healing through artistic expression.

When not in the studio or leading classes, Precious enjoys spending time at the beach and wineries with her husband, Todd, where they can often be found creating art together.  She also loves to write and publishes a weekly newsletter called, “Joyful Expressions”.
