Mark Geiger

Mark Geiger is a Washington DC area native with a long interest in the arts which has been interspersed with a full-time professional career in system safety, occupational health, and environmental sciences. Recently retired, he now hopes to focus more on painting.

A good deal of his style has been associated with the impressionists due to a mutual love of color and a respect for the combined application of scientific principles to art and interest in breaking through the stoic conventions which characterized the academy of art in their time.

Primary media include watercolor, pastel, oil, and a range of drawings.

Many original paintings and drawings are available for sale. He has developed a series of greeting cards of local attractions which appeal to both visitors and residents, as well as holiday cards. Mark is also available for commissions such as landscape paintings of client’s homes.

Mark has taught several short classes, primarily for the Fairfax Art League and varied senior centers.
