The largest orchestra of its kind in America, the Washington Balalaika Society is a community orchestra of musicians organized to perform the music of Eastern European countries on traditional Russian folk instruments. The orchestra includes vocals, balalaikas and domras, as well as bayans and accordions, a traditional wind section of flutes, clarinets, oboes and percussion.
