Jo Offduty is a New York -born, Virginia- based artist working on mixed media. In 2000, she had her first solo exhibition at the Art Center in Miami Beach, South FL. Jo’s work has been exhibited and supported by The Women’s Center of Jacksonville, FL and The DC Center located in Washington, D.C. Jo’s work centers primarily on topics of spiritual, psychological and gender identity, both individual and collective. Recurring themes are of power, vulnerability, sexuality, domestic violence and the sway between them. Alongside Jo’s fine art practice, Jo has worked as a freelancer since 1999. Raised and born in a Caribbean family, not only does Jo create expressionist art, but has published five different art styled tarot and oracle decks, in which Jo uses during private spiritual consultations with their clients.
