Overview and Purpose
Fast Track Grants support unforeseen needs, funding one-time activities that fall outside the regular cycle or scope of ARTSFAIRFAX grants. These are non-matching grants of up to $1,000 for nonprofit Fairfax County arts organizations.
Non-profit arts organizations based in Fairfax County, the city of Fairfax, or the city of Falls Church are eligible to apply for up to $1,000. Organizations may receive Fast Track Grants only once per 12-month period. No match is required.
The following expenses are eligible for Fast Track Grants:
- Unforeseen project costs that could threaten an organization’s ability to successfully carry out a project
- Equipment lease, purchase, repair or maintenance that was not anticipated
- Unexpected artistic opportunity that is not part of an organization’s regular season or artistic calendar
- Sudden emergency situation as defined by an organization
Application Review Process
Applications will be internally reviewed by a panel of staff members and approved by the Grants Committee, a standing committee including members of ARTSFAIRFAX’s Board of Directors.
Applicants will be notified of their grant application status within 30 days of receipt of their application. Fast Track Grant awards are paid in full at the time of award.

These include replacing essential equipment due to age to supporting international artists. This was the case for the Center for Cultural Exchange, which was able to support Tian Meng Yi, a visiting artist from China, to teach a youth group a Tai Chi fan dance performed at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
