The Mural Brigade cordially invites you to the Contemporary Mural Arts Festival at Mason! The festival is the first of its kind in Northern Virginia at a public university. The mural festival will consist of three murals made by professional artists, MARICAMA, and Imani Shanklin Roberts and one mural by a student artist, Reed Griffith. The murals themselves are made with various types of techniques such as LED lights, printed plastic mesh, and printed vinyl.
The festival and exhibit at Mason will offer Virginians a free open-air art tour, and exposure to a spectacular and growing trend in the visual arts. There will be several activities at the festival such as brick painting, polaroids, and a selfie booth. There will be a panel at the festival discussing public art and art education. Reed Griffith will be at the festival discussing their murals and meeting attendees. Bring along friends and family to enjoy the festivities and celebrate the power of public art! Parking for the festival can be found at Shenandoah Parking Deck.
The event is October 12th, 4-8 pm in the Southside Plaza.
