NextStop Theatre Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Education to serve in a part-time capacity to oversee the theater’s education initiatives. The Director of Education will be responsible for overseeing all existing youth and education programs, as well as having the opportunity to develop new programs. The ideal candidate will have a deep love and appreciation for the theater, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of success in arts education.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
Manage all existing educational programs, including the Summer Theater Adventures program, For-Kids-By-Kids productions, and after school residencies.
Develop and manage new programs, which may include Winter and Spring Break camps, day camps (teacher work days/student holidays), adult training classes, as well as other new opportunities as they arise
Find, hire, and manage all necessary teaching artists.
Collaborate with the Producing Artistic Director and Executive Director, as well as the Directors of Marketing and Development on the intersection of all company programs and activities.
Monitor and analyze the impact and effectiveness of educational program campaigns, using data to inform future strategies.
Collaborate with community partners and sponsors to promote the theater and education programs.
Develop and manage the education budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in arts education teaching and management.
Strong interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to multi-task under pressure and prioritize multiple activities within a short timeframe.
Experience in development of teaching curriculums.
A strong understanding of the arts and entertainment industry is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Part-time hourly position working at various theater locations and remotely. This position is 50% of a full time role, approximately 80 hours per month. Weekly hours may vary based on production schedule and timelines. Employees are paid monthly.
