Fairfax Symphony Orchestra

Since its inception in 1957 the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra has had dual passions — to be a leading artistic voice on the concert stage and to take its knowledge, artistry, and commitment to the great arts of classical music into the community and to the young people of Fairfax County and the greater Washington area. That commitment is as strong today as ever, and finds its realization in our annual concert season with performances at George Mason University, our FSO Presents performances at venues across Fairfax County, as well as our programs for students, master classes for young musicians, scholarship program, pre-concert conversations with Conductor & Music Director Christopher Zimmerman, plus much, much more.

The FSO is proud of its comprehensive education programs and its official partnership with the Fairfax County Public Schools, working collaboratively with teachers in the classroom to deliver interactive music learning at all levels.
