Braddock District Art Contest

Deadline: October 9, 2026

About the Opportunity:

Braddock District Supervisor Rachna Sizemore Heizer, in partnership with the newly created Braddock District Arts Advisory Council and ArtsFairfax, invite emerging and established visual artists from across Braddock District to showcase their unique visions in What does joy look like?: An Intergenerational Art Contest.

Artists in four age categories are encouraged to submit work, Youth Division: Ages 11 to 14, Teen Division: Ages 15 to 18, Adult Division: Age 19+ and Senior Division: Age 55+.

Considered artwork can include 2D works, including but not limited to oil, acrylic, pencil, and mixed media. Various physical media will be considered as long as it is framed and presented in as professional a manner as possible. All submitted artwork must have sturdy eye hooks or D-rings – with strong hanging wire – regardless of size to ensure that the artwork hangs properly.

Submissions will be accepted from September 7 – October 5, 2026. The top three artists in each category will be celebrated at the annual Best of Braddock, presented at the Braddock District Government Center 9002 Burke Lake Rd, Burke, VA 22015 on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 6:30pm and their artwork will be displayed at the Braddock District Supervisor’s Office from November 9, 2026 – January 2, 2027.
