As an artist, I have enriched my life through art, and along the way I’ve learned that to paint is a way to express an appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us. If we can just learn to see it, art is a wonderful journey full of new adventures and wonderful friendships. I am a fine arts painter, specializing in contemporary landscapes and still-life paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolor. I have been influenced by the colorists and nature painters, who have captured, not the exact images of their time, but the concept of the places’ beauty through color. My most famous influencers are The Canadian Seven, David Hockney, Wolf Kahn and current artists, Joe Mayer and William (Skip) Lawrence. My work is a style with a mix of old and new, traditional but at the same time contemporary, making my art more authentic and interesting, very accessible, to all. My goal is to continue to explore how color influences the mood of my paintings, sharing the joy and excitement with the viewer.
