ANTIDOTE SOUNDS is a Washington DC area eclectic, boutique record label, and a weekly music radio program presenting the best in jazz, soul, acoustic and world music.
In addition Antidote curates and presents music series and festivals including the annual Mclean Project for the Arts Artfest, the Creative Cauldron Passport To The World and Summer Concert Series month-long festivals, and bookings for multiple venues and private events in the DC area.
Antidote’s Ken Avis also presents engaging audio-visual talks about the history of popular music in the DC area. The talks have taken place for Fairfax County, Smithsonian, and at George Mason University, American University, Old Ox Brewery, and private events. Ken leads historical walking tours exploring the music history of U Street “DC’s Black Broadway”, and Georgetown, focusing on the history of DC’s roots, rock, country, punk and blues genres.
