Independence Day Celebration

Join the City of Fairfax for their 50th Annual Independence Day Celebration! Celebrate our nation's independence beginning with the best parade in Virginia and ending with a spectacular fireworks display at Fairfax High School. The parade will include groups from around the nation and from within the Commonwealth of Virginia. There will be high school marching bands, some coming from as far as California! The City of Fairfax Band will anchor the evening show entertainment.

Independence Day Fireworks Celebration

The annual Independence Day Celebration on Falls Church starts at 7 p.m. with a live musical performance. Fireworks start at 9:20 p.m. Seating is available at Jack Gambill Athletic Fields or the Northern Virginia Graduate Center Parking Lot. In the event of rain, the event is scheduled for July 5 at the same time and location.

Irish Folk Festival

The festival is presented by the Washington DC metropolitan area branch of the CCÉ, with sponsorship from The City of Fairfax and The City of Fairfax Commission on the Arts.  All are invited to enjoy, free of charge, the “pure drop” - the beauty and depth of Irish music, dance, language and sport as it has taken root and come into full flower in our community.
