International Children's Festival

ICF_logo_colorThe Arts Council of Fairfax County’s annual International Children’s Festival is the premiere international arts education experience in the United States. Since 1971, the Festival has brought hundreds of thousands of area children and their families to Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts to experience new cultures and learn about the significance of the arts in our lives, our community, and throughout the world. Thousands of area families come to the Festival to see not only the featured international performers, but also dozens of Fairfax County and metro area arts organizations featuring hundreds of area performing and visual artists representing a diverse range of art forms, genres, and cultures.

The Festival’s unique educational interactive arts environment provides children of all ages and adults with a fun, dynamic, and accessible way to discover and learn about diverse art forms and cultures. One of the important factors that sets this festival apart from all others is its focus on education while having fun. Learning about diverse cultures, music, and the arts is paramount in the planning and execution of festival events and activities.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the International Children's Festival. The Festival will take place on Saturday, September 18 and Sunday, September 19, 2010.
