2012 Arts Awards Luncheon

On Friday, October 26, 2012 the Arts Council of Fairfax County presents the inaugural Arts Awards Luncheon at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, located at 7920 Jones Branch Drive, Tysons Corner, Virginia 22102.

The 2012 Arts Awards Luncheon brings together the arts and business communities to celebrate local artistic talents and achievements while honoring artistic excellence in Fairfax County. The Arts Council will recognize outstanding dedication to the arts by presenting the following awards:

Jinx Hazel Arts Citizen of the Year Award

Named in honor of Marion (Jinx) Hazel, whose great love and dedication to the arts was unwavering, this award recognizes the individual that exhibits dedication to the arts, and whose vision and commitment played a significant role in the evolution of Fairfax County.

Excellence in Arts Education Award

This award will be presented to an individual or organization that made a meaningful contribution in the area of arts education, either as an arts educator or as an organization providing outstanding arts education service.

Philanthropy in the Arts Award

This award honors private sector support of the arts in Fairfax County by acknowledging an individual, corporation or foundation that provided leadership funding or long-term monetary support for the arts in Fairfax County.

Community Impact Through the Arts Award

This award recognizes an arts organization for a program that significantly influenced the Fairfax County community through its outreach and transformational nature.
