Arts Council Recognized for Innovative Public Art

Americans for the Arts’ Public Art Network selected the Arts Council’s Imagine Art Here: Tysons Tiles by artist Julia Vogl for its 2015 Year in Review program.

The Arts Council was recognized by Americans for the Arts’ Public Art Network (PAN) Year in Review program for its visionary Imagine Art Here: Tysons Tiles temporary public art and engagement project with artist Julia Vogl.The Arts Council launched Imagine Art Here in 2015 with of a series of county-wide public art engagement projects to elicit a vision for the role of the arts in the community and collect resident, workforce, and visitor feedback for future facilities, public art, and related arts amenities.

Arts Council Participates in National Economic Impact Arts Study AEP5

We are excited to announce that the Arts Council of Fairfax County has officially joined Americans for the Arts’ latest national economic impact study, Arts & Economic Prosperity 5 (AEP5).  Our participation in this important research project will allow us to quantify the economic impact of the arts and culture industry in Fairfax County and the Cities of Fairfax and Falls Church. We all know that our industry supports jobs, generates government revenue, and spurs cultural tourism.  In June of 2017, we’ll receive a final report on the impact our nonprofit arts and culture industry has on our local communities.

22 Northern Virginia arts groups and several individual artists and arts supporters convened at yesterday's arts advocacy for 2013 event at the Center for Education at Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. This event was produced by the Arts Council of Fairfax County in partnership with the Alexandria Commission for the Arts and Arlington County Cultural Affairs. Featured speakers were Jay Dick, Senior Director of State and Local Government Affairs, Americans for the Arts, Charlotte L. Anders, Executive Director, Virginians for the Arts, and Patricia Rublein, Chair Legislative Committee, Board of Directors, Virginians for the Arts.
