Title 1 — An Initiative for Fairfax County Elementary Schools

madscience_1
CAPs artist Mad Science of Washington.

Your school can expose students during their formative school years to culturally rich arts experiences.

The goal of the Title 1 Initiative is to increase exposure to the arts among students in Fairfax County Public Schools Title 1 elementary schools by offering professional, high quality arts education programs (art, dance, music, new media, opera, puppetry, storytelling, and theatre.) Our goal is to introduce the CAPs program to every Title 1 school in Fairfax County. In 2011-12, five title 1 schools participated and CAPs performances reached 3,500 students.

Arts Council staff will work with your school to build capacity and bring CAPs to your students.

Yesterday was simply AMAZING. Our students and staff loved it. Performers were great!!! Today I had requests for them to come back next year. Thank you SO MUCH!!
